Use Lecinote on your phone

Lecinote runs in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app, full screen and one tap away while you cook.

Lecinote is a web app built to be installed. Once it’s on your home screen it opens without the browser’s address bar and tabs, and gives cooking mode the whole screen.

You’ll need to be signed in to an account first. Lecinote is invite-only for now.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open app.lecinote.com in Safari. On iOS 16.4 and later you can also use Chrome or Edge.
  2. Tap the Share button.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Lecinote reminds you about this in Safari until you install it or tap Not now.

Android

  1. Open app.lecinote.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu.
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen on some devices, and confirm.

Other browsers such as Samsung Internet and Firefox offer the same option in their menus.

Computers and tablets with a keyboard

In Chrome or Edge, use the install icon at the right of the address bar, or Install Lecinote in the browser menu. In Safari on macOS Sonoma or later, choose File → Add to Dock.

What changes once it’s installed

  • It opens on its own. Lecinote gets its own icon and window, without browser controls taking up space.
  • Cooking mode has the whole screen. On supported devices the screen also stays awake while you cook.
  • Sign in once more on iPhone and iPad. Apps added to the home screen keep their own storage, separate from Safari, so the first time you open Lecinote there you’ll sign in again. After that it remembers you like the browser does.

Lecinote still needs an internet connection: your recipes, plans, and cooking progress live on the server so every device stays in step. If the connection drops, Lecinote shows a short offline page instead of a browser error, and picks up again when you’re back online.

Native apps

Native apps for iPhone and Android are on our roadmap. We’ll share news here when there is some. Until then, the installed web app is the best way to use Lecinote on your phone and tablet, and everything you save there is your same library wherever you sign in.
